David graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema Television Visual Arts, Option in Screenwriting.

David has collaborated on other short films, but Red Tape is his first venture into directing. He also co-wrote the musical score for the film and has worked on music videos. David has completed several short and feature-length screenplays in various genres.

Joe Rothenberg Animation is the Austin-based animation studio behind Nickelodeon's Gumwad Island, the Annie-nominated musical short Ladies Knight.
